Who are my clients for small business coaching?

I help coaches, therapists, consultants, counselors, advisors and other independent professionals. Specifically, independent professionals who:

• Work harder than they want and earn less than they want. Sales may be down or low, margins may be down or low.
• May even find their enthusiasm and passion waning to the point they wonder if they made the right career choice or if they should continue.
• Have experienced self-doubt sometimes. They wonder if they have what it takes to be successful.
• Know that what they are doing is not working, but they do not know what they can change--let alone where to find the time to make the change! There may be lots of activity, but little progress. Often they are heard to complain that there is more work to do than time to do it.
• Would like to have some help, but believe they cannot afford a coach.

How has my small business coaching helped my clients?

How does my small business coaching work?

It depends. We generally work by telephone. If you are in the San Francisco Bay Area, we may meet face-to-face on occasion. We may correspond by email at times.

For those who want to keep costs low, we do coaching in small group teleconferences to reduce everyone's costs (and use pseudonyms for the bashful). These teleconferences are done weekly at the same time for a period of three months.

To keep costs really low, our most affordable coaching is done indirectly. These coaching clients listen quietly to the teleconferences for group coaching. The issues with which one independent professional is dealing are usually common to others as well. Everyone listening learns, though only four or five are interacting directly with their coach.

What are the most frequent reasons someone thinks s/he cannot do this?

• It will generate more spam. Nope. We respect your privacy and hate spam. We never, ever sell or rent our lists to anyone. You only get what you request.
• I don't have the time, I'm already overcommitted, or I'm too busy. Why, that's perfect! That's exactly why you need to do this! I could not have stated it any better!
• It sounds too good to be true. You are in good company. After you have failed to attain your success goals over and over, you begin to to lose hope. Even a light at the end of the tunnel seems too good to be true.
• I am beyond help. Things have just deteriorated too far. While that could be true, it may not be. If you wait any longer, you may make it true. We have gotten pretty creative pretty regularly and helped people so down and out they really doubted there was any way back.
• I've tried other programs before and they did not work. Studies show that 90% of what you learn in a workshop or training will be forgotten within a week. Other studies have shown that adding coaching to that training means 90% of what you learn will stick and become your regular practice! If you want results, small business coaching is the way to get there!

I also have 20 years' experience in corporate America (start-ups to Fortune 500) and 10 years' experience in coaching and consulting. I take my decades of large business experience and translate it for the unique needs and language of small business. Because I have "been there, done that," I can help others get past almost any problem they may be experiencing.
